Setting a Thoughtful Thanksgiving Table

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, tis the season for setting a beautiful table.  As is the case with many things in life, it can be the little details that make all of the difference.  Making guests feel peaceful and relaxed while at your table is essential to any great gathering.  Thoughtful details definitely don’t have to break the bank, but can make all the difference.

Make each guest feel special with a personalized place setting.  This one, printed on butcher paper, is cranberry sauce-proof and can be tossed after the meal.

Hollow out grocery store pie pumpkins and add carnations or mums – voila!  Spread out a few of the petals on the table for a dramatic flair.

Thanksgiving doesn’t need to be all about oranges, yellows, and browns: you can choose almost any color scheme and go with it.  Here, black and white buffalo plaid set the stage for a simple, elegant theme with a clean and natural look.  Tying small sprigs of rosemary with twine or any decorative ribbon adds a fragrant flair.

The kids’ table deserves some attention, too.  While the children patiently wait for the turkey to be sliced, keep them busy with a few cups of trail mix, some gourds spray painted in primary colors, and some crayons on a butcher paper “tablecloth.”
