“HOT” Undergarments

Summer means two things will happen with certainty:  hot weather, and therefore you will be forced to wear more revealing clothing, whether you like it or not.   This is not the time for fussy bras and control-top anything, unless you enjoy being a sweaty, hot mess.

There are two things to consider when shopping for summer undergarments: comfortable, cool fabrics and the right silhouette for thinner materials and cuts.  Oh, and the undergarments should be sexy when at all possible, like this bra perfect for tanks and maxidresses.

H & M Push-up Bralette, $19.99

This bra checks both boxes: it has a minimalist silhouette, and a light, comfortable fabric.

Free People Strappy Back Bralette, $20

Now, if you’re more generously endowed, you already well know that a dainty little “bralette” is not for you.  This smooth, thin, sweat-wicking fabric is perfect, and the racerback silhouette makes it possible to wear under most anything.  Plus, Wacoal simply manufactures the most well-made bras on the market.

Wacoal T-Back Seamless Underwire Bra, $46

These briefs are made from an extremely lightweight cotton-based fabric, and feel as though you are wearing nothing at all.

Natori Bliss Briefs, $15

Hanky Panky undergarments have a cult following, and for good reason: they are made well, they are sexy, and they are uber-comfortable.  What more could a girl (or a guy) want?  The airy, lace-like properties of this thong are perfect for higher temps, and won’t show lines under your favorite dresses.

Public Service Announcement time: whenever you’re in the market for a bra, consider going to Nordstrom for a professional and complimentary fitting.  Also, check out HerRoom.com for a virtual look at how your bra will appear under different tops.  They have a great selection of bras as well!
