Be on Trend at the Beach
Planning to spend some time at the beach this summer? I sure hope you are! It’s fun to refresh our beach “stuff” every few years; even items that are used seasonally can start to look dingy and dated. And nothing about beach time should ever be dingy or dated!
First things first – select a crisp new cover-up. Cover-ups need not be “official” cover-ups – most any lightweight, casual dress will do the trick just fine.
Beach footwear need only check two boxes: to be simple and waterproof. That’s it.
A cute beach bag is a necessity to house all of your goodies. Bonus points to have one made of mesh or to allow sand to easily escape.
A hat is a must to protect your face, scalp and hair – particularly if your hair is color-treated. The best part about this hat? It’s packable! Like some more structured straw fedoras, this one can fold up and still bounce back into into its shape.
A soft, fresh, luxe new beach towel is in order.
Keep your water (or whatever!) chilled all day long in a S’well bottle. S’well bottles are the best of the best: they are triple insulated, and will not condense on the outside. The S’well company was founded with the mission to eliminate the plastic water bottle – and with a higher price tag, you are SURE not to lose it.
Now that you are sitting pretty and getting hydrated, let’s take care of YOU. It’s easy to neglect lips when going out in the sun – but this lip tint has a broad spectrum spf and a natural tint. Bonus: it smells really good.
Ok, we’ve all received the memo: being in the sun is not good for our skin, and carries with it risks of cancer and premature aging. But I happen to be a firm believer in a good old suntan. Faking it is a good option – this luxe tanning spray gives such a natural tan. It has only a teeny tiny bit of sunscreen, so don’t depend on it solely as your SPF protection.
