Pantone’s Color of the Year – Greenery

It’s always fun to track Pantone’s color selections. As you may recall, they chose not one color, but TWO in 2016.

Rose Quartz and Serenity were complementary colors chosen to represent harmony in a chaotic time.  2017’s pick is Greenery, a hue which could be interpreted to evoke similar feelings of harmony, albeit in a different way.  Inspired by nature (duh!), this green-yellow hue evokes so many adjectives.  Fresh.  Ripe.  Clean. Refreshing. New.  Healthy.  Rejuvenating.

“There’s a growing desire to reconnect with Nature and what is real, and find ways to disconnect from technology. We need a break. We need to stop and breathe,” Laurie Pressman, the Pantone Color Institute’s vice president, told to FORBES. “(Greenery) is about unity and community—connecting to oneself and others and a higher purpose, Nature.”

The hue will weave its way into every landscape.

With the advent of our new presidential administration and the complexities that accompany it, feeling this color will hopefully prove to be therapeutic.
