Art for Less

Collecting art is tricky business.  First of all, art can be an expensive investment.  Also, art is not something you can necessarily shop for.  In an ideal world, a piece will reach out and speak to you at a moment when you have a pocketful of cash.

Since this ideal-world scenario doesn’t always present itself, the internet has helped us to score original art, sometimes at great prices.

I love Minted.  Not only do they offer creative and original personalized holiday cards and invitations, they also sell home decor, textiles, gifts, and ART.  Beautiful, original, limited run art.

Art e-tailer 20 x 200‘s mantra is “Art for Everyone.”  Meaning that art should be financially attainable to all, and that all should collect art that makes them happy.  20 x 200.  I love this vintage remastered print from Eadward Muybridge.

Novica is an amazing art community hosted by National Geographic.  NatGeo finds amazing art and artists from around the world, and helps support them via sales of their art.  Many pieces are originals, others are signed and numbered. To date, Novica has sent $70 million to artists around the world.
