As part of our 2016 Spring Color series, we would like to introduce Buttercup.
“While the majority of the Spring/Summer palette trends toward calmness, a few diversions from the theme emerge that offer a contrast. With PANTONE 12-0752 Buttercup, designers reveal a shining beacon transporting its wearer to a happier, sunnier place.”
Each year, color designers from Pantone meet and declare what the spring palette will be. These colors will appear in technicolor in all aspects of life for the year. In 2016, Pantone’s color designers searched this year for unisex hues, perhaps in hopes to refute the archaic stereotype that pink is for girls, and blue for boys. Some colors depict an urban landscape, while others are more organic. Buttercup is undoubtedly the most cheerful and bright in the 2016 collection. It’s in-your-face, happy, smiling sunshine.
Designers such as Charles & Ron and David Hart will be showing Buttercup as part of their spring designs.
Weddings equate happiness, as does Buttercup.
When considering introducing Buttercup into your home’s landscape, do so sparingly and with caution. A little bit goes a long way, and this shade is best used as an accent.
Buttercup can be playful to wear, and looks especially striking against darker skin tones.
