DIY Skincare

Working amongst all females here at Boottique, our “water cooler” conversations on occasion center around beauty and fashion.  We love to share tips and tricks with one another.  Skincare seems to be a common topic – probably because not one of us in this world is getting any younger!

Looking for a remedy for sunspots and dry skin?  Here’s the Boottique secret.

At bedtime, mix 3-4 drops of 100% pure Jojoba oil (Trader Joe’s sells a good one) along with 2 drops of Frankincense essential oil (Wyndmere is the best) in the palm of your hand.  Both of these little bottles are inexpensive, and will last forever.  Massage the mixture into clean skin, allow to dry, and complete the regimen by applying your favorite eye and night creams.

Want a great at home peel?  That will cost you next to nothing?  Here’s how we keep our skin fresh and blackhead free.

Add three tablespoons of milk (any kind) to one packet of Knox Gelatine (you know, that box you’ve seen at the grocery store your whole life, and have no idea quite what it’s for).  Stir.  Microwave for 15 seconds, stir again.  Moving quickly, apply in thin layer across your face, avoiding eyes, neck, and any sensitive areas.

Wait up to ten minutes, until it dries, then peel off.  It should look like this:

Added bonus to this peel?  It will remove any unwanted hairs along your jawline.

Please share your skin care DIY tips!  We promise, we will try them!
