As part of our 2016 Spring Color series, we would like to introduce Green Flash.
Each year, color designers from Pantone meet and declare what the spring palette will be. These colors will appear in technicolor in all aspects of life for the year. In 2016, Pantone’s color designers searched this year for unisex hues, perhaps in hopes to refute the archaic stereotype that pink is for girls, and blue for boys. Some colors depict an urban landscape, while others are more organic. Green Flash depicts lush green grass, a crisp Granny Smith apple, and of course, the “green flash” seen following a spectacular sunset over water.
“PANTONE 15-0146 Green Flash calls on its wearer to explore, push the envelope and escape the mundane, radiating an openness that combines with the rest of the palette in unexpected but serendipitous ways. The popularity of this brilliant hue is representative of nature’s persistent influence even in urban environments, a trend continuing to inspire designers.”
In the home, Green Flash makes a bold statement in a narrow hallway, and absolutely pops against crisp, white trim.
What’s important to remember is this: these colors are not just for the couture set. Seek out these colors; be fashion forward and current, regardless of your budget.
