Fall Trends: Prepare for The Flare

The last time I remember flare jeans being “in” was when I was sitting down in my 7th grade Language Arts class admiring one of the popular girl’s light wash pair of flares. But before I could beg my mom to take me to the store to get my own, the skinny jeans took over. While the skinny jean has become a staple in every woman’s wardrobe…the flare is making a return!

The skinny jeans work because you can wear all sorts of tops with their slim-fitting style. But people are playing with all sorts of ways to wear the new flare jean! I have put together three different outfits with flare jeans so that you can get some ideas of how to wear them. I figured it’s been a while and we may have forgotten how much fun they actually are to style!

Flare leather

The first outfit below is simple and casual. Wear this on the weekends when you’re running errands and you’ll still feel glamorous. Or wear this on a shopping outing with your girlfriends. It’s comfortable and effortless while still looking well put-together. And you may be thinking, “jean on jean??” But the answer is yes. Jean on jean works when the two jean fades are different shades.

This next outfit is perfect for a night out on the town. I kept the look clean and elegant with a completely black and white look — the color comes in the accessories. A gold statement necklace and black heels with a gold sole. I chose a dark red lipstick to keep with the elegance of the outfit, but it’s almost berry-like hue makes it totally night time appropraite. And the touch of leather in the clutch ties in perfectly with the leather jacket. That’s the key! Subtle matching.

Finally, a look that you can wear into the work place. Now I know that most offices don’t allow for jeans, so this look still works! A pink blouse like this one is perfect because it is simply and flowy, streamlining the whole outfit. And I decided to include a pair of teal teardrop earrings because the teardrop style is totally work appropraite, and I love the pink and teal color combination. Grab your Celine bag for a touch of edge and you’re ready to go!

Flare: Work

Now go out, embrace the 70’s, and rock the flares! Because they are here to stay.
