Style Icon: Alexa Chung
Alexa Chung has been one of my style icons literally for years. I love everything about her. She has such a unique style that mixes vintage, classic, and edgy elements. Not only does she have killer style, but she is British. That British accent alone could sell me. And she’s freaking hilarious. Okay, I’ll stop gushing over her now. Back to her style.
I chose two of her looks to recreate. One focuses on one of her signature looks: the denim skirt. She actually started a clothing line for AG Jeans where she designed her very own denim skirt, featured in the outfit below. You can check out her clothing line right here! I would say it’s the 70’s meets the 21st century. Check. It. Out
As I said before, Alexa also chooses to embrace the rocker within and dress edgier some days. The outfit below is a perfect example of her edgier side. But she still manages to keep her femininity by pairing the leather jacket with a flow-y polka dot skirt. Don’t be afraid to mix feminine and masculine! If Alexa Chung does it, then trust that it’s a good style tip to follow.
And if you’re wondering how to master her signature 60’s inspired go-to makeup look, here is a step-by-step video! It’s super easy to follow considering it only involves a few main parts: even foundation, the perfect cateye, neutral lips, and a dewy blush. Boom. Enjoy.
Now that you all have been introduced to the versatility of Alexa Chung’s fabulous outfits, go out there and play with different styles! Don’t feel like you have to stick to one singular style. If you feel edgy one day, bring out the leather jacket. If you’re feeling girly at the same time, pair it with a skirt. If you’re feeling vintage, bring out the knit cardigan. Just don’t forget to pair it with something more form-fitting so that you don’t drown in your clothing 🙂
