Classic Chucks

As spring rushes in with warmer days and brighter nights, we excitedly gravitate toward the white pieces in our wardobes, sometimes second guessing if it’s fashionably allowed. One item that you can definitely break out (or invest in) is classic white Converse (also known as Chuck Taylors, or simply “Chucks”).

Brief history lesson: Chuck Taylor was a basketball player-turned-shoe salesman who designed the Converse classic high tops, originally sold as basketball shoes.  By 1966, Converse had over 80% of the US sneaker market, thanks to Chuck’s designs.  While Chuck received a salary from Converse, he never received any sort of commission for the 600 million pairs of Chucks that have been sold worldwide.

If you aren’t used to wearing them, you may wonder how to style them.  But really, they can go with almost anything! T-shirt dresses are in for the season and pairing your Chucks can add a little tomboy flair to the outfit. Another equally enticing option is to match them with boyfriend denim, graphic t-shirt and a fun blazer. How would you wear them?
