Wellies

Springtime brings rainy, wet conditions…no matter what part of the world you live in. The appropriate footwear is necessary to muddle through the puddles.

Wellington boots, commonly called “Wellies,” originated in 18th century England.  The Duke of Wellington requested that his shoemaker create a boot for him that could go from the battlefield to the dinner table.  Originally made of leather, they morphed into a waterproof version following the invention of rubber in the 1850’s.  And the rest is history!
