Style Files: Scarves
Scarves can make something as simple as a t-shirt and jeans look classy. I can’t tell you how many sleep-deprived nights have left me rushing out the door in the early morning in a plain outfit only to be saved (fashion-wise) by the draping of a scarf. From light, airy scarves to thick, cashmere scarves, a scarf-collection is a must for any woman.
Not sure what type of scarf to get? Like shoes and bags, there are countless options:
Carré (Square) Scarves:
Carré scarves conjure up notions of Hermès (who was the creator, after all) and silk. However, nowadays these scarves can found in sizes larger than the original 90×90 cm and in a variety of fabrics, from cotton to satin to wool. These scarves can also be worn wrapped around your head or even across your shoulders as a makeshift shawl.
The name of this scarf is revealing–a never-ending scarf. Simply wrap it around your neck and enjoy the bulky warmth.
Out of the three styles listed, this type of scarf is the easiest of all to style and wear. It can easily be turned into an infinity scarf by tying the two ends together, but can act just like a carré scarf. It’s common to see printed silk scarves, such as the one above, but there are a variety of options available.
If you’re in a rush and wearing a tee and jeans or if you seek to glam up your outfit quickly – grab a scarf!
