The beloved American classic, Minnetonka Moccasin, collaborated with women’s ready-to-wear, Wren, for a second limited edition collection released this fall. The collaboration features a new take on the classic Thunderbird style, a longtime favorite of Wren designer Melissa Coker. The shoe features beautiful deerskin and delicate metallic beading for an understated look.
In a Minnetonka Moccasin press release, Coker described the origins of her love for Minnetonka stating, “We spent summer vacations in Wisconsin, where the highlight of each trip was a brand new pair of Minnetonka moccasins. These prized shoes would be worn into the ground each summer, and then gleefully replaced at the start of the next summer. They represent true American Classics to me, and I felt that they would be perfect accessories to my collection.”
Coker founded Wren in 2007 after previous work experiences, including stints as fashion editor at Vogue and W Magazine. In fall of 2012, her first collaboration with Minnetonka was released. The classic, effortless styles of Minnetonka Moccasin and Wren fit together effortlessly. A short film featuring the band, Guards, perfectly melds Minnetonka Moccasin and Wren into one. Not to mention, their music is lovely! We love these styles. Be sure to get your own before they are gone!
